I considered a Blight Druid, but it seems I would need to be in melee range more than I would like to.

Unless there's a very good reason for multi-classing, I won't do it. So I gave up on being a good melee character, I have fighters, barbarians, rangers and paladins for that. Why on earth would a druid, who lived their entire life in the woods, picking up berries, making wine and hummus and berry pies, farting behind their favorite tree, suddenly feel a calling to be a monk just for one summer, to only then come back to the woods? I reject that. I also read that everyone and their cat likes to dip 1 level into Monk for bonuses, but I find that appalling. I'm either too squishy or I'm ok with AC, but I don't hit, or I hit sometimes but don't deal enough damage to make it fun. It can work, especially on low difficulty of course, but it annoys me that I spent so much time buffing my character to make it up to snuff, have a cool battle, then I leave the location, start moving, and all my buffs are gone, sometimes even in the same map, because many buffs are only active x number of rounds per level. The highest level I played up to, was level 8. Initially, I wanted to go fully Wild Shape, to find it lackluster. Mechanics wise, I'm also lost on what feats to get apart from the summoning ones. companion (I always felt Ranger is the class that makes the most sense to have a companion, since Druids are "always" summoning other critters, for me makes less sense to have such a special bond with ONE animal, since they effectively should protect them all). I've been reading a bunch of guides, and rules pages, and there's a wild number of different ways a druid build could go, which is fair enough, they are versatile, but I feel lost, especially on Domain vs. I usually play Paladin, Ranger or the occasional Sorcerer.ĭruid feels the most fun to me now, but still, I feel I'm underpowered or too much of a jack of some trades (not even all) and definitely master of none. I've fallen into the trap of starting/restarting PK 2378289734 times until I felt satisfied with the class I want to play, since this is not quite DnD, as I've learned it is based on 3.5e (correct me if I'm wrong?) so there's still a lot I get wrong. I've recently discovered Pathfinder after trying to find a CRPG that scratched the itch before replaying the old classics (I have all Pillars of Eternity, Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale is one of my favorite games ever, it was the first CRPG I finished).
